Formatting Colour: Less is More
This two-day workshop explores colour as a relational and unstable experience. Through a series of focused perceptual exercises, participants will investigate how colour shifts according to its surrounding colours, scale, proportion, shape and placement.
Working with a deliberately limited palette, the workshop considers how small adjustments can alter visual weight, spatial depth, temperature and intensity. Participants will test how the same colour relationships behave across changing formats and dimensions, developing a more sensitive understanding of simultaneous contrast and optical colour.
The emphasis is on close looking, comparison and discovery: noticing how colour can appear to change without the pigment itself changing at all.
Suitable for all levels.
