About the Program
The Expanded Practice Program is a rigorous, year-long course intentionally designed to cultivate a multifaceted and confidently autonomous artistic practice. Integrating sustained practice-based research with intensive studio work, the program challenges artists to experiment with materials, methods, and ideas that expand the boundaries of their practice and engage with wider conversations in contemporary art. Professional development is embedded throughout, with guidance in writing artist statements and proposals, exhibition design, and curation.
Guest artists, critiques, and regular in-depth discussions deepen creative dialogue, culminating in a public exhibition and printed catalogue celebrating the year’s achievements.
A strong sense of community – grounded in curiosity, generosity, and shared growth – anchors the program. We value artists who are willing to work hard, stay open, and support one another. Current EP students are given priority to return the following year, reflecting our belief that this program is not a finish line but an enduring source of guidance and connection.
