WATERCOLOUR 1 is suitable for beginners and those returning to their practice.
Watercolour is a fun and flexible medium with many contemporary applications, allowing the water-based medium to ‘take over’ and lead you into unexpected places.
In this class you’ll learn the process of creating a watercolour painting, explore the use of the watercolour palette including which brushes, how much water and what washes to start with, as well as learning new techniques using other mediums.
You’ll also explore observing your subjects with abstract and/or illustrative exercises, and learn to think outside the box as we don’t just use brushes but experiment with other materials as well. Other areas of focus will include materials, drawing, shading, watercolour painting and brush techniques, along with exercises to develop and hone your observational skills.
