Open Studio Year-Long Program
A creative practice isn’t something that fits neatly into a few months before stopping and starting again. It’s ongoing, evolving, and built through sustained dedication. Our year-long programs are designed to reflect that reality, supporting your transition from being a student to being an artist.

Committing to the full year helps you establish the habits that underpin lasting creative growth – consistency, autonomy, and momentum in your studio time.

Throughout the year, you’ll work towards an end-of-year exhibition that celebrates your progress and dedication alongside a cohort of like-minded artists.

While you can still enrol term by term, only full-year participants will be eligible to exhibit in the group show and access the additional program benefits.

Our Open Studio Year-Long Program includes:
• Enrolment in four consecutive terms
• 12-month Studio Membership
• Invitation to participate in the end-of-year exhibition
• Access to a private forum
• Social events
• Invitation to participate in our annual Christmas Market

Open Studio is suitable for:
Emerging Artists who have completed foundation programs and are ready to explore their own voice, story, and artistic direction.
Artists Returning to Practice after time away, or those reconnecting with their work following a tertiary degree completed years ago.
Established Artists seeking mentorship within a flexible, self-directed environment – without the structure of a more intensive, skill-based course like the Expanded Practice program.

Open Studio IS:
Flexible & Self-Directed: Open Studio offers a flexible, self-directed structure that allows you to follow your own artistic voice. You’ll be encouraged to take ownership of your practice, experiment with materials, refine concepts, and develop a unique body of work.
Collaborative & Supportive: While you’ll work independently, you’ll also be part of a community of like-minded artists. Periodic group sessions provide opportunities to share your work, exchange ideas, and discuss challenges. This collaborative environment enriches your practice, helping everyone grow together.
Mentorship & Guidance: Open Studio emphasises independent development, but support is always available. Experienced mentors guide your creative process, provide constructive feedback, and help you navigate any obstacles along the way.
Personalised Development Plans: The program is tailored to your individual goals and aspirations. Whether you’re exploring new techniques, refining existing work, or developing a specific project, we help you create a roadmap for your artistic growth.

Open Studio IS NOT:
Not Skill-Based Instruction: Open Studio is not focused on teaching specific technical skills or step-by-step processes. It is designed for artists who already have a foundational understanding and are ready to pursue self-directed exploration.
Not Highly Structured: This is not a course with rigid schedules, lectures, or predetermined outcomes. If you prefer a highly structured environment with detailed assignments and constant guidance, you may find the program too open-ended.
Not a Fast-Track Course: Open Studio is about the long-term evolution of your creative practice. It is intended for those committed to sustained development over time, with a focus on artistic maturity and self-direction.

Application Process
To ensure Open Studio is the right fit for your current stage of artistic development, we ask all prospective students to have a conversation with us before enrolling. If you’re interested in joining the Open Studio Program, please contact us to discuss further.
