This workshop will address portraiture with a concentration on structural aspects of the head, neck and upper body. Linear and tonal approaches demonstrated and analytical discussion within a group context will further explore working with the human image.

In this 4 week workshop students will develop their understanding and confidence and learn strategies in working with the human head/portraiture. You will explore the fundamentals necessary to understand the structure of the head so that you can work with more confidence from both life and photographs. Students will look at the anatomy of the head, proportions, creating form, recognising planes, breakdown the individual features and how they relate to each other.
