Summer Life Drawing Intensive – last places!

There’s only 3 places left for our SUMMER LIFE DRAWING INTENSIVE!

This is a 3 day intensive that will give participants the skills and knowledge to work confidently to work confidently with the human figure. Looking at gesture, proportion, basic anatomy, foreshortening, creating volume, movement, expression and so much more! Including how to tackle the ‘tricky’ parts – head, hands and feet.

Life Drawing in Summer

LONG POSE LIFE DRAWING/PAINTING returns in Summer!

It’s a wonderful day of drawing!  Draw all day from two models in the one pose giving you the opportunity to tackle more sustained paintings or drawings.  You’re welcome to work in any medium you like – painting, drawing, sculpture (excluding toxic materials).

Although untutored, Erika Gofton will be there to offer guidance if needed.  This class will be kept to a smaller number so there is plenty of room to spread out.  A great opportunity to experiment and try new things!

Describing the Body with Godwin Bradbeer

DESCRIBING THE BODY is a new workshop in the Life Drawing Masterclass workshop series with Godwin and we’ll be exploring the conventions, and un-conventions, of drawing the figure.  The one day intensive is on Sunday 19th November, BOOK YOUR PLACE TODAY!

Godwin Bradbeer returns!

Godwin returns to The Art Room with HEAD TO HEAD!  This workshop will address portraiture with a concentration on structural aspects of the head, neck and upper body.  Linear and tonal approaches demonstrated and analytical discussion within a group context will further explore working with the human image.

Long Pose Life Drawing/Painting

LONG POSE LIFE DRAWING/PAINTING returns for a 2 week session – 26th August and 2nd September!

For two weeks the model will take the same pose for four hours. Although untutored Erika Gofton will be there to offer guidance if needed and at the beginning of the first week participants will be given a chance to request demonstrations for the remaining weeks. These classes will be kept to a smaller number so there is room to spread out. Draw, paint or even sculpt! A great opportunity to experiment and try new things.

Searching the Space Drawing intensive at The Art Room

Spots are filling up quickly for the Searching The Space Drawing Intensive in January. In this workshop, students will work with multiple models for the whole day.  Through a series of short exercises and one long, large sustained drawing, students will explore new strategies that will deepen their perception of space, form and their own drawing language.  Don’t miss this opportunity to be challenged to really push yourselves in ways you haven’t before.
