Join us for our next WHAT I WISH I LEARNED AT ART SCHOOL workshop with artist Hannah Bertram – A TRUTH ABOUT BEING AN ARTIST!

In this workshop you will learn about some of the activities Hannah uses in her practice to be playful, curious, uninhibited and uncertain. Hannah will also be discussing her 24 Hour Endurance workshop which we’re excited to be hosting on October 20th!

Linocut prints have long held their own position as a versatile and interesting print medium. Participants in this 4 week workshop will learn various image transfer techniques, cutting techniques as well as the multiple ways a linocut can be printed, with or without a press.

Image transfers are an immediate way of merging photocopied images or laser prints with your artwork on a wide range of surfaces. You will create your own unique artworks that incorporate images of your own selection using GOLDEN Acrylic Paints, Gels and Pastes.

ACRYLIC ADVENTURES returns to The Art Room!
Join Merryn Trevethan for a fun workshop where you will explore a wide range of innovative new Acrylic painting techniques that incorporate a wide range of GOLDEN paints, Gels, Pastes and Grounds!
In the morning you will explore a range of techniques on prepared grounds. You will then have a chance to further explore your favourites in combination to create a larger work in the afternoon.

Exploring Abstraction – last places!

This is a one day intensive where you will explore abstract strategies for creating work through a series of structured exercises for creating work and generating ideas.  Working from unique still life setups you will incorporate some of the fundamental elements of drawing and painting to help push your perception towards a more abstract approach.

Collaging With Colour – new workshop!

Merryn Trevethan returns to TAR in August with a NEW workshop – COLLAGING WITH COLOUR!

Merryn will introduce the idea of using colour to structure your work using a variety of coloured papers. Students will be introduced to colour relationships, and will utilise the interaction of colours to create space and dynamic compositions through a series of structured exercises that also focus on shape, pattern and edges.

Life Drawing Course – Term 3

Our LIFE DRAWING COURSE with Nic Plowman returns in Term 3 and begins August 16th!
 
This is a six week fun and challenging comprehensive life drawing course aimed at complete beginners to more experienced artists wishing to push their practice further. This course is intended to give students an excellent grounding in the methods of perceptual drawing and how to accurately and creatively render the figure including gesture, line, proportion, space, weight, anatomy, and tone.
