PAINTING PEOPLE USING WATERCOLOURS is a new one day workshop with Jacqui Stockdale!
Learn to paint portraits (close-up, full length and groups) using a variety of watercolour techniques. Create a record of what you see, the people around you, your own reflection, babies sleeping, friends knitting, holiday makers.
This workshop will involve demonstrations on how to prepare your paper, construct a composition, brushwork, mix a colour palette, and render a likeness in a short time frame. You’ll explore how to work directly from life and photographs, and paint in tricky places such as aeroplanes, cafes and hospitals, and while off hiking.
Jacqui will share examples of watercolour portraits made during her travels near and far, and we’ll put it all into practice working with a model for the afternoon.
