Develop your conceptual ideas and drawing practice through project based exercises

Suitable for students with intermediate drawing experience

EXPANDED DRAWING further develops technical skills gained in prior courses; making it suitable for those who have completed Drawing 1, Drawing 2, and Drawing Deeper, or possess confidence in their drawing abilities and are eager to elevate their drawing practice and embrace challenges.

You will be equipped with a diverse set of creative “tools” in your toolbox and encouraged keep a visual diary as a reference between sessions to facilitate idea development.

You’ll explore both historical and contemporary artists throughout the course, be encouraged to develop your research skills, plus cultivate creative habits that will build an autonomous practice.  The overarching goal is to empower you to discover your unique artistic voice, within project-based exercises, emphasising the importance of self-expression and individuality within the field of expanded drawing.

To get the most from this class, students must possess an open-minded attitude, an enthusiasm for unconventional approaches, and a willingness to do things differently!  Please note, drawing exercises vary term to term depending on class focus.

All drawing materials are supplied, with professional quality paper available for purchase at the studio.
We also have Drawing Starter Packs available to purchase when booking or in the shop, which contain everything you need to set up your drawing practice at home.
